Biography

Along her classical studies, she meets Christiane Legrand (French singer and sister to Michel Legrand), and makes her débuts in a Parisian cabaret “le canotier du pied de la butte”, and soon takes the path of Music Hall performing as leading showgirl on the stages of French casinos.
She loves (from a very early stage) musical eclecticism and nurtures herself through the mix of styles.
Musical Comedy takes her onto the stage of l’Olympia, songs to the Hotel de Ville of Paris, Palais des Glaces, Théatre du Gymnase and the Sentiers des Halles, the a cappella vocal quartet “parisan way” brings her to Tokyo and Osaka (2005, 2006, 2007), the operetta to the Opéra Comique for three waltzes Trois Valses (directed by Jean-Louis Grinda) and La Périchole (Directed by Jérome Savary in 2006 & 2007). Her path comes across this of Delphine Productions for her first recording.

In 2007, she creates with her friend and director Stéphane Ly-Cuong, the musical show “C’est toujours ça de pris ! (i.e. “C’est toujours ça de pris !” that can be translated into well at least that’s something!”) inspired from the title of a famous song by the french Music-Hall artist Marie Dubas. They mix the universes of Lyrical singing and cabaret by exploring the repertoire of the songs of Yvette Guilbert, Marie Dubas and Yvonne Printemps. The show was played more than a 100 times in tiny theaters in and outside of Paris, during the Off festival in Avignon. Vanessa was accompanied by the pianists Tristan Michel and Stéphanie Fontanarosa.
